Privacy Policy
Crate keeps your work private. Your projects, audio, and library never leave your machine. Crate connects to the internet only to activate and verify your license. That exchange carries your license key and basic device information, never your music. No user account is required.
The app
- Your work stays local. Your library index, previews, tags, ratings, and notes are stored on your device (and in companion files beside your projects). Your projects and audio are never uploaded to us.
- Licensing. When you activate Crate, it sends your license key and basic device information (an anonymous machine identifier and your operating system) to our licensing provider to confirm your purchase and prevent abuse. Crate may re-verify periodically; otherwise it works offline.
- First-run setup also requires internet to download required software components.
The website
Our website may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic. It does not track you across the web or collect personally identifying information.
Purchases
When you buy Crate, payment is processed by our third-party merchant of record. They collect the information needed to complete your purchase (such as name, email, and billing details) under their own privacy policy. We receive limited order information (such as your email and license key) to deliver the product and provide support.
Support
If you email us, we use your message and email address solely to respond and provide support.
What we don’t do
We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it except as needed to process your purchase and provide the product.
Your choices
You can request access to or deletion of the limited personal data we hold (such as support emails and order records) by contacting us.
