Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 June 2026

These terms govern your purchase and use of Crate (the “Software”), a desktop application for browsing and previewing music projects, provided by Loudspace Inc. (“we”, “us”). By installing or using Crate, you agree to these terms.

1. License

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Crate on computers you own or control, for as long as the applicable version is supported. This is a one-time purchase; updates within the same major version (1.x) are included at no additional cost. Your license may require online activation and periodic verification, and may be activated on a limited number of devices.

2. What you may not do

3. How Crate interacts with your files

Crate reads your Ableton project (.als) files to build a searchable library and never modifies them. It writes small companion files next to your projects (a preview, plus your tags, ratings, and notes) and keeps a local index on your machine. You are responsible for backing up your own work.

4. Ableton

Crate is an independent product that works with Ableton Live. It is not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Ableton AG. “Ableton” and “Ableton Live” are trademarks of Ableton AG.

5. Payments

Purchases are processed by our third-party merchant of record, who acts as the seller of record and handles payment and applicable taxes. Your purchase is also subject to that provider’s terms.

6. Refunds

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will read or recover every project file perfectly.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or projects, arising from your use of the Software. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Software.

9. Termination

This license ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may stop using the Software at any time.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Manitoba and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

11. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
